Video:PlayStation games running on my PlayBook
Finally an emulator worth installing, tons of games available so this should keep you busy. I'll try and take you through some simple steps and help you get this emulator working.
STEP 1:
Sideload PlayStation [PCSX-PB] emulator, download bar file http://goo.gl/N5W07

STEP 2:
Launch the emulator app you should get a option saying "Enter Bios" click cancel.
Then launch Airbrowser app in you're playbook, navigate to misc folder. Create a new folder called "pcsx-rearmed-pb".
STEP 3:
Now click on the newly created folder, you will get some sub folders automatically.
The BIOS and iso folder are important to us so remember them.
Download and extract the zip file SCPH1001.BIN (http://goo.gl/pOFzt) and then place it in the BIOS folder.
STEP 4:
Time to get some games!!!
Goto this website http://goo.gl/7Qffd, select PlayStation option from the left pane. You would be able to select games in alphabetical order.
For Demo purpose download Grand Tour Racing http://goo.gl/SA1a4
Download and extract the zip file, you should get 4 folder, you would find 2 file with file extensions .img and .cue (you might have to use a PC to extract and copy these files)
Copy both the file and paste it into the Iso folder which comes under Misc/pcsx-rearmed-pb/iso
Some games would have a .Bin file instead of .img, in such cases copy the bin file and paste it into iso folder.
STEP 5:
Launch the emulator and select SCUS_944.55.img, the game will take some minutes to load.

DeleteIf it is in rar format then you will have to use ur pc and a software like winrar to extract it. It can't be done on our playbook as of now.
Hey mr.green can you tell me how to put the scph1001 file in the bios folder in airbrowser because it seems that we can't drag and drop things in the folders
ReplyDeleteYou need to copy paste that file, to the top right hand side of the airbrowser screen you will find that option to copy n paste.
DeleteOk now it works, BUT im not sure i have done it all correctly because i have downloaded 4 games and only one works. 2 of them make the app closed and go back to the main menu of the playbook and the 4th start ( the game is crash team racing ) and stops like 10 seconds after.( It always stop at the same place) Do you think it's the bios that doesn't work perfectly or it is the games that don't work for this emulator ? Can you help me plz?
ReplyDeleteWhat i've found is that when you download files like "-.bin and -.cue", you need to rename "-.bin" to "-.img", and it will work. That's how i resolved my problem. (:
